Headin' North

Tomorrow morning, bright and early, we will be heading north on I75. We will probably drive to Cleveland, Tennessee tomorrow then on to Carrollton, Kentucky for the Kentucky Scottish Weekend. We will meet our friends, Bob, Jan, and Al there and get to see our favorite Scottish Entertainer, Alex Beaton.
With any luck at all, this will be the last time we have to pack up and go north for the summer. We are putting our 100 year old home on the rather slow market this summer. We just decided that at our age, we didn't really need to maintain two homes and since we spend most of the year in Florida anyway and since we have made so many friends down here and spend so much time at CROW, this was the place to be. So, anyone want to buy a home?

I'm not looking forward to all the work we have to do this summer to get this house ready to sell, get it on the market, and hope it sells in a reasonable length of time. We will probably have an auction to get rid of the household contents and the result of years of my collecting things like ruby glass, bells, and Hummels.

One thing I am looking forward to, though, is a 2 week trip to Ireland in June with Alex Beaton (see above) as our tour guide. We have gone on two trips to Scotland with him and this is his first tour of Ireland. Our friends, Jan and Al (see above) are going with us.

So, there you have it. The good, the bad and the ugly of the summer to come.

Sounds like a wonderful summer! Well... just hire people to take care of all that "house" stuff for ya! Have them do it while you're in Ireland! No fuss, no muss! LOL!

sIreland is so popular! A friend of mine is going there in two weeks for a hockey tournament (of all things). Another friend is going there next Spring with about 20 ladies. I hope you have the time of your lives. What is a Ruby Glass collection? You'll have to share some photos before you get rid of them. My mother also collected bells. I have them in a box as I have not lived in a "done" house since I left home at 17. That is 24 years of my things being in boxes! :( Maybe someday I'll have a house that is done. I hope your home sells quickly so you can be done with all that business. Maybe you'll get lucky and be back in FL before you know it!
