Awhile back, I found this great meme called Camera Critters. I love the pictures and decided that with my wealth of critter pictures down here in SW Florida, I would join in and I have for several weeks now. I would like to have you hop on over to Camera Critters. There you can either sign up for your own post for Camera Critters or see lots and lots of other great critter pics. So, now that you've done that--here are my critters.
I love going to the beach. Normally I go looking for shells but once in awhile I actually do take time to notice the birds on the beach. We have all kinds down here. Now I will admit that when it comes to identifying some of the birds, I have to use a book and even then I'm not sure so forgive me if there are mistakes here.

The Great Egret is so regal. Very stunning. I love the tern's head. What a riot. I do have to agree...the pelican is my favorite. They are such a gangly looking bird...you can't help but love them. Nice post on the birds at the beach!
I love them all of course but my special guy is the sandpiper who often walked ahead of me at the beach Sandy
How did you know that I was going to have a few moments to visit today? Love birds, and this post was made for me-LOL!
Before Disney's Animal Kingdom was built, there was a little place you could travel to by boat called Discovery Island. It was a bird lover's paradise, just crawling with the most gorgeous birds I had ever seen in my life. I made poor Mark (who was quite worried about the droppings falling from the trees) wander the island for hours. By the end of the day, I think I won him over. ;)
I love to watch the birds when we're at the beach. Much like people they dodge the waves and search for their own treasures. Gotta love the pelicans, though!
Mare, I remember Discovery Island. I loved that place. I wish they still had it.
I love that photo of the Royal Tern!
those skinny little legs are so delicate looking
great series of photos
These are some spectacular captures! I love the Tern and the Pelican photos. AWESOME!
We have sanderlings, turnstones and gulls, but not pelicans. Beautiful captures.
Amazing photos! I was doing a search for info on sandpipers for a nature lesson for my kids, and came across your blog - so glad I did! LOVE your pictures!
