Several blogs that I follow participate in Mellow Yellow every Monday so I thought I would give it a try.
Several years ago we spent a week in Yellowstone National Park and I was amazed by the colors in the different thermal pools. Here are a couple of examples.

Wow! Now that's phenomenal! Never knew anything like this existed. Very cool
That's amazing.
My guess is that there is a lot of sulphur in those pools! I've never been to Yellowstone but I'd love to go! :)
Who knows if i will ever get there but it sure is nice to see things
through the eyes of others. thank you
Oooh, is that smelly as it looks? some things are just fun !!
Wow, that's beautiful. What an amazing punch of yellow.
Adds a whole new meaning to "never eat yellow snow".
Cool pics.
The photo is amazing...I am wondering for the second photo, is it soil? How did you able to capture it? Can you stand on it? Sorry for the vagueness of my questions just curious..c",)
The Explorer asked about the 2nd picture. Actually it is a close up of the yellow part of the lst picture. I think the stuff is crusty but you can't walk on it. Plus, if you tried you would probably be arrested!! Also Mary the Teach was right. Those are sulphur pools and I think the colored areas are because of the sulphur.
I've never been to YellowStone, but wish to visit it someday!
