In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that everyone takes it easy (kind of like it is here on Sanibel). I found this great meme on several blogs that I read and it looked like fun--so here goes. I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. Then when you've answered my question, go on over to An Island Life for other fun Aloha Friday questions and to play along!
Today, my friend Diana and I had a "girl's day out". We went to the Edison Mall in Ft. Myers. She had heard a lot about the Elephant Bar restaurant in the mall and wanted to eat there. We checked out the menu and thought it looked pretty good. The food is Asian and "Pan Pacific".
So, we decided to give it a try. Oh my!! Yum, yum, yum!! She had the Mongolian Beef and I had a special with coconut shrimp, tempura shrimp and veggies over rice which were to die for! I will definitely be going back again. Unfortunately, it is a very localized restaurant--locations are mostly in California but a few others around the country.
OK, so getting on with my Aloha Friday question.
What restaurant have you eaten in lately which you would recommend to your friends?
Obviously, I am recommending the Elephant Bar Restaurant.

Pizzeria Uno...which isn't very fancy but is yummy!
Red Robin! It has great burgers! I was just there last night and we had a couple of great burgers and ...oh wait...I had dinner out with my son....that could be why I think Red Robin is so great. :p
For a quick bite - I would recommend Panda Express. The Bejing Beef and the Orange chicken are very tasty. The chain is fairly new to my town and seems to do a brisk business. Where else can you get a full meal with veggies and 2 entrees for less than $7.00.
I agree about Panda Express. Huge portions for not a lot of money.
We just tried Noodles and Company a little while ago - and really liked it. :)
We miss Elephant Bar! We haven't lived near one in 8 years! So when we were in CA that's where we wanted to go for our tenth anniversary! Weren't the prices soo reasonable for what you get?
Hmmm well I would recommend lots of local eats! We hardly eat at the very few chain restaurants in Hawaii. I get very frustrated at Olive Garden commercials when we don't have any in Hawaii!
I ate at Ruby Tuesday's tonight. I love it for the salad bar.
Nothing But Noodles or Fudruckers are good values, family friendly and have great food. Of course if it was without the kids Cheesecake Factory :)
My favorite restaurant in Hawaii is this little hole in the wall called Irifune. Yum!
I went to the Elephant Bar many years ago when I first moved to California. Cathy M.'s boyfriend (now husband) is an airplane mechanic, and after he fixes up a plane he has to fly it. So we were visiting his hanger one day, and he told us to just get in, and he flew us from LA to Santa Barbara airport where we got out and had lunch, then got back in and flew home. We ate at the Elephant Bar. Can't recall the food, but the experience was GREAT!
