Look Who's Knocking at My Door-Part 2--Ewwww!

So, this morning as I am heading out the door with my laundry basket to go down to the laundry room, I look down and right under where the door was--was a snake! I love wildlife. I have even been known to get into a dumpster to rescue a raccoon. BUT--I do not like snakes. Never have--never will. And my problem is, I don't know which ones are poisonous and which aren't. This was kind of striped, not the Black Racers which I know aren't dangerous. Now that I look at pictures I think it was probably a Corn Snake which aren't dangerous but I didn't get all that good a look at it. I closed the door and locked it! Of course, this meant that the snake was right under the door. Even though I'm not a snake fan, I felt bad because I was afraid I had mashed it. After I got back from the laundry, I got Mr. Snowbird to help out. We got a stick and a towel. The stick to shove him out on the porch and the towel to catch him if he managed to get in the house! We did manage to get him out from under the door and he slithered away under the front porch. He didn't seem to be hurt, thank goodness but Ewww.

Sarah Palin was in Ft. Myers today. I normally watch General Hospital in the afternoon but today it was pre-empted by Sarah. I couldn't help wondering if it was really her or if Tina Fey was covering for her. Of course, she spent her whole speech slinging mud at Obama. She did say at the end of her speech that she intends to "keep giving material to Tina Fey to keep her in business. It's job security for her." Should be an interesting month! BTW, Joe Biden is in town next week.

Wow, Sarah was in Costa Mesa just the other day! They are really letting her out and about without having to stand behind John now that she proved herself able enough in the debate! She must be getting jetlag or whiplash. Can't bet much further apart within the states!

Unless she went back to Alaska, that is.

From the Alaska blogs I follow, I'm not sure how much they want her back . . .

She sure is cute, though, ya betcha. We'll see if that's enough.

Ewwww snakes!!! I am sooo girly. Ewwwww. I am so glad we don't have any here in Hawaii. I am always fascinated by people who keep them as pets. Snake owners are a different breed. I just know one of my boys is going to want a snake. A pet rat might make me faint, too.

I loved JB and SP in the vice presidential debates. They are both so much more warm than the top of their tickets. However, I am looking forward to tomorrow night's debates!

I'm not going to crap up your blog with much more that this - I'm a registered Republican and Palin makes me embarrassed for my party. 'nuff said!

Speaking of snakes... LOL!!!! :D

I think you are right about the kind of snake. We've seen those over here too. I'm not afraid of them, but would rather they didn't come up that close. :-)

I was scrolling down to say something warm and fuzzy about your granddaughter and then up pops a damn snake. I DO NOT have those here in Alaska, and I don't like them. That wasn't a very nice shock! :) (BTW Gail...this Alaskan blog would take her back. Maybe she isn't cut out for VP, but we don't have to feed her to the wolves. They have moose to eat). :) ...all in fun...

Hmmmmm.

Although he was a little late for the party, I just think he was welcoming you back home to Florida! LOL!

Better you than me...
