Aloha Friday #2

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that everyone takes it easy (kind of like it is here on Sanibel). I found this great meme on several blogs that I read and it looked like fun--so here goes. I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. Then when you've answered my question, go on over to An Island Life for other fun Aloha Friday questions and to play along!

Since this is Breast Cancer Awareness month, I'm going to steal my question from Deb over at Mom of 3 Girls. Have you had a mammogram yet?

I get one once a year. My last one was in June and I blogged about it here. Yeah, a mammogram does tend to hurt but it doesn't last very long--and ladies, it is a lot less painful that having your breast removed and months of radiation and chemo after that. So, after you've answered my question, get on the phone and make your appointment, ok?

Yup -- see, we are getting wiser as we get older!

I do not believe that my insurance will cover a baseline mammogram until I am 35, so I have a few years to wait. I have to admit that I have not been the best with self-exams since I am still nursing my little guy. I know it is not wise, but I am trying to get back into things now.

Oh, boy, I'm late on getting my mammy. It was due back in May. I have had one so far and it wasn't bad. I need to get moving on getting an appointment.

I am new to your blog. I love that you're on Sanibel Island. I've never been there but it is a place I want to go.

I'm your newest follower. Come follow me...

Yes, I have one annually. This year was in July. Our medical clinic in PSJ has a digital machine and they don't have to squish anything as much as a regular machine. Plus there is no waiting for the film to develop.
Yeah digital!!!

I had one about 5 years ago when I was 23 because of a scare, now that I am 28 I have not. A man had to have made that machine, but the pain is worth the peace of mind, or catching something sooner than later!!
