Camera Critters-

There is a great meme called Camera Critters. I love the pictures and decided that with my wealth of critter pictures down here in SW Florida, I would give it a go. So here goes, but before I do, I must tell you to hop on over to Camera Critters. There you can either sign up for your own post for Camera Critters or see lots and lots of other great critter pics. So, now that you've done that--here are my pics for the day.

This is a Woodstork. This has been my favorite bird ever since I saw my first one down here years ago. I think they have the kindest eyes of any bird I've ever seen. I have always contended, though, that they need a top hat and they would be my idea of the old fashioned undertaker. If you want to learn more about the endangered Woodstork, go here.

I would be hard-pressed to name a favorite SW Florida bird. They are all gorgeous in their own ways. If you held a gun to my head, I'd have to say the little blue heron is my fave, during the season when they are really, really blue.

It is beautiful!
It looks like it's standing near a patio - is it?

...what a great idea Snowbird! And you know what else?
Mari looks demure with an impish smile
Maybe now and then...you could tell us about a critter that you had seen that very day!
Mari snickers
...just now and then, of course. ;)

That's one amazing bird. We don't have that here in the Philippines.

You made me think top hat and now the stork just doesn't look complete without it. :)

That's a great picture! Looks like he was coming to the door for a visit. :-) I've seen those sitting in a dead tree over here. They look so big standing on a limb.

He is just too cool.

But I want to see him in a top hat, too. Somehow, I doubt that he'd go along with that. ;)
